When you create a character, every decision you take affects the persona: the material of the clothing, the curve of the neck, what kind of shoes you make them wear…
Developing a development
For a couple of years Luis Mendo had been looking at other artists working on character development. Friends working at Pixar or Netflix are building personalities from thin air and Luis admires their work with envy. It would be so interesting to do something like that, he thought.
And so he started trying to create some and see what it was like. But no matter how hard he tried, he kept coming back to draw the same guy over and over: himself.
We All Have Many Sides
Mr Mendo is a polyhedral character and so are you.
We all have many sides: you are a mother, a child, a co-worker, maybe a chef or a great car mechanic. All those sides belong to you and make you.
Luis has always found it limiting to label himself as ONE thing: we have so many stories inside us. Therefore when designing Mr Mendo he thought it would be alright to give him many faces, different clothing, even different tempers, all fitting within the same character.
He’d be the Peter Sellers of the character world!

Yes! This site is a bit of a stretch. It talks about a character and you can download some stickers but what else is here? In case you are wondering: Luis is just wandering. He started drawing this guy by accident and it has taken him to Seoul, which is not that far from Tokyo but still. Had never imagined.
So give them a chance, who knows where you will see Mr Mendo next.
